Receipt templates for every kind of small business
Boutique, bakery, salon, food spot or gadget store: which receipt design fits, with real examples.
A receipt is often the last thing a customer gets from you, and the thing they keep longest. The right design depends on what you sell. A bakery receipt can feel warm and handmade. A jewellery receipt should feel quiet and expensive. A food spot needs something fast and clear that also prints on a thermal printer.
Below are receipt templates matched to common small-business types, with real examples. All of them are the actual templates in rcpt, shown with sample businesses. Each one picks up your logo and brand colour automatically.

Boutiques and fashion: Boutique
Fashion customers buy into a look, and your receipt is part of it. The Boutique template uses bold type and your brand colour as a strong accent, so it feels like a shopping-bag tag rather than a bill. It works well for streetwear labels, thrift stores, shoe sellers and beauty brands.
Tip: add your Instagram handle in setup. When a customer posts their haul, the receipt in the photo sends people straight to you.
Bakeries and caterers: Editorial
Cakes, small chops and catering are personal purchases, often for birthdays and events. The Editorial template uses a classic serif type and a calm, magazine-like layout that feels crafted. It also suits cafés, farm produce sellers and anyone with a story behind their product.
Thank you,
Tolu.
Receipt no. 0318 — 7 Oct 2026
“Enjoy every slice. Happy birthday to Dami!”
Tip: use the policy line for something useful, like “Order 48 hours ahead for custom cakes”.
Salons and services: Clean
Hair stylists, barbers, nail techs, make-up artists and freelancers sell time and skill, not boxes. The Clean template keeps things simple: your logo, the service, the price, and a clear total. It is the safe choice for any business, and it is free.
See you in 6 weeks, Amaka!
Tip: a guarantee in your policy line, such as “Free touch-up within 5 days”, gives customers a reason to keep the receipt and come back to you.
Food spots and counters: Slip
A busy food spot needs speed. The Slip template looks like a classic till receipt: monospaced, compact and black-and-white. It reads perfectly on a phone and is the layout rcpt uses when you print on a 58mm or 80mm thermal printer.
Choosing a printer? Read 58mm vs 80mm thermal printers.
Gadget stores: Boutique or Clean
Phones, laptops and accessories are high-value purchases where customers often need proof of purchase for warranty. Use Boutique in a strong brand colour if you want to look like a premium store, or Clean if you want something plain. Either way, make sure each item name includes the model, for example “AirPods Pro (2nd gen)”, and use the policy line for your warranty terms.
The QR code matters most here. When a customer resells the phone or claims a warranty, anyone can scan it to see the original receipt. Learn more in how to spot a fake receipt.
Jewellery and premium brands: Luxe
At a higher price point, less is more. Luxe uses elegant type, generous space and a refined accent colour, so the receipt feels like part of the gift box.

With gratitude.
Kids, gifts and parties: Playful
Toy shops, gift sellers, party suppliers and event planners can afford some fun. Playful uses rounded type and brighter colour, and it still keeps the total and details clear.
Have the best party, Uche!
What every template includes
The look changes from template to template, but the important details stay the same, so you never trade clarity for style. Every rcpt receipt shows:
- Your logo (or a neat monogram of your initials if you have not uploaded one) and your brand colour.
- Your business name, tagline, phone, address and Instagram handle, whichever you add.
- A receipt number that counts up automatically, plus the date and time.
- The customer’s name, each item with quantity and price, and any discount or delivery.
- A clear total and how the customer paid: cash, bank transfer, card or POS.
- Your one-line policy, if you set one.
- A QR code that opens the original receipt so anyone can check it is genuine.
That means you can pick a template purely on how it feels. The receipt will still do its job as proof of payment, whether it is sent on WhatsApp, saved as a PDF or printed.
How to choose
- Match your packaging and Instagram. The receipt should feel like it came from the same place.
- Think about where it will be seen. Mostly WhatsApp? Any template works. Mostly printed at a counter? Use Slip.
- Pick one and stick with it. Consistency is what makes a brand recognisable.
