Terms of service

These terms are between you and rcpt (“we”). By using rcpt you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use rcpt. You must be 18 or over, and if you use rcpt for a business you confirm you are allowed to act for it.

What rcpt is

rcpt lets businesses create receipts for real sales. A receipt confirms a sale your business recorded. It is not a bank alert or proof that a transfer arrived, and the QR check only shows that the receipt was issued on rcpt and hasn't been changed since. Always confirm payments with your bank.

Fair use

• Only issue receipts for real transactions made by your business.
• Never use rcpt to fake a payment, copy another business, or mislead anyone. We will close accounts that do this and may report them.
• Keep your login safe. You are responsible for receipts issued from your account.
• Only add a customer's name or phone number when you have a good reason, such as completing their order.
• Don't try to break, overload or get around the limits of rcpt, or access accounts that aren't yours.

Fun receipts

The fun receipt maker is for jokes and social posts. Fun receipts are novelty images: they are not receipts, invoices or proof of payment, and each one is marked “just for fun, not a payment receipt”. Don't remove that marking or use a fun receipt to make anyone believe a payment happened. That is fraud, and we may report it.

Suspending accounts

We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, puts customers at risk or is reported for fake receipts. Where it's safe to, we'll tell you why and give you a chance to respond. If you think we got it wrong, email us. You can stop using rcpt and delete your account at any time in Settings.

Plans and payment

New accounts get 7 days of Starter free. After that the free plan allows 3 receipts per day. Paid plans are prepaid passes for 30 days or a year, paid through Bachs. They never renew or charge you automatically; when a pass ends you return to the free plan. Refunds follow our refund policy.

A pass belongs to the account that bought it and covers every business that account owns, up to the plan's limit. If a pass ends or you move to a smaller plan, nothing is deleted: businesses over the limit become read-only and staff accounts over the limit are paused until you renew.

Teams

On Pro and Business you can invite staff and managers. The business owner controls the team and is responsible for receipts issued by anyone they invite. Each receipt records which team member issued it. Removing someone ends their access straight away; receipts they issued stay with the business.

Your content

Your business details, logo and receipts stay yours. You give us permission to store and display them so rcpt can work, including on public receipt pages that anyone with the link can open.

No warranty

We work hard to keep rcpt available and accurate, but it is provided “as is”. You are responsible for your own tax and accounting obligations, including the VAT rate and tax ID you set on your receipts.

Limits on our liability

As far as the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect losses such as lost profits or lost sales, or for losses caused by how you or your customers use receipts. Our total liability to you is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing here limits rights you have under Nigerian consumer protection law.

Changes to these terms

If we change these terms in a way that matters, we'll tell you by email or in the app before the change takes effect. Using rcpt after that means you accept the new terms.

Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. If something goes wrong, email us first and we'll try to sort it out. If we can't, the Nigerian courts will decide.
